Home Before Dark by Christy Barritt

Genre:
Christian Romantic Suspense Mystery

What it’s about:
Grief over her father’s sudden death merges with suspicion when country singer Daleigh returns home. Suspecting murder, she begins digging for the truth. Her time in the small town has her reevaluating her heart and her chosen path in life–and how it relates to the path God would have her follow.

What I like about it:
The small town southern charm, characters, and intrigue draw you in and keep you reading. The main characters are easy to empathize with. Plenty of suspects keep you guessing who–and why–someone may have killed Daleigh’s father. I’m still reading for the answer . . . and, of course, to hopefully see Daleigh and small-town mechanic Ryan end up together as their budding romance blossoms amidst danger and deceit. A perfect blend of suspense, mystery, and romance!

Bottom Line?
Recommended!

Currently Reading: Told You Twice

Told You Twice by Kristen Heitzmann

Genre:
Not easily pigeon-holed. Deep and multi-layered, Told You Twice transcends genres and blends elements of many, including romance, mystery, suspense, inspirational, literary, comedy, and women’s fiction.

What it’s about:
A young woman who thinks she has her life on a smooth, happy path finds it derailed by a mesmerizing but deeply troubled actor. They may be the worst thing that ever happened to each other–or the very best.

What I like about it:
First off, I knew I’d likely love this novel because I’m a huge Kristen Heitzmann fan. (Seriously, if you haven’t read her Rush of Wings series, you’re really missing out!) Once again, she brings her characters to stunning life and makes you, as a reader, completely invested in their story. Complicated questions and conflicts have no easy answers. Emotions are raw, real, and heart-tugging. A very memorable reading experience infused with faith, this novel keeps drawing me back in!

Bottom Line?
Highly Recommended!
